DO NOT BE THIS PERSON.

Just.  Don’t.

This should be common sense, I don’t care how old you are.  You are not entitled to -anything-.  I bust my ass and make a living just as hard as anyone else does and this crap right here?  Biggest slap in the face to artists that is humanly possible.

I’m sorry if some of my items are expensive but here’s the thing: That’s what they cost to make.  This is my livelihood.  This is literally what I do for a living.  It helps feed me, my critters, my boyfriend, and pays the bills.   It is my job and I love it and I deserve to be fairly compensated for my time, materials, and work.

So, don’t pull this crap online.  Don’t pull this shit in stores.  Don’t pull this asshattery at cons.  Just.  Don’t.

I don’t often talk about my customers (but with very, VERY few exceptions, they are awesome), but I had a guy at my last convention try to haggle me down to half my asking price for a shadowbox. I tried to explain my reason for pricing, including the time and costs associated with making each box.

He asked me if I enjoyed making them. Of course I do.

"Then it’s like the time making then is nothing, right?"

Bitch, you do not get to tell me my time is worthless. Any possibility of lowering my prices at that point just vanished. Leave my table.

Don’t ever be That Guy.

The Ballad of Lapis Lazuli

I really enjoyed Lapis’s character arc, both for her own development and for the things she reveals about other characters along the way. After rewatching The Message, I had the idea to write another song about her- still from Steven’s perspective, but after the events of Jailbreak. I tried to write it as a folk song but it came out as an actual ballad; I’m OK with this.
