Some early exploration on Gogo.. Disney’s first Korean character, I drew upon my experience with “tough” 누나 stereotype while mixing it in with the bike messenger/trick culture of San Francisco~ I also wanted to step away from the stereotypical “disney” female proportion and tried to caricature the typical “radish” ankle korean girl type (ask some Korean friends and they’ll let you know what that means..) I read up on a article that the reason why korean speed skaters are so great at speed skating might have to do with their natural proportions.. which matched perfectly with Gogo’s skating attribute!
